Costa: Guardiola is the world's best coach, I learn from him every day

Douglas Costa believes Pep Guardiola is the best coach in the world and says he tries to learn something from the Bayern Munich boss every day.

The winger joined the Bundesliga giants from Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer and has enjoyed a fine start to life in Germany, sitting joint top of the league's assist charts with seven and two goals in 12 games.

And Costa has hailed the influence of his new coach as a big factor in his devastating form for Bayern.

"Everyday that I can spend with Pep Guardiola is educational for me," he told Sport1. "When I'm at his side, I try to learn something new everyday.

"Pep Guardiola is the best coach in the world. The communication with him is great and there has been no problem from the first minute."

Costa spent five years at Shakhtar and won five league titles, three domestic cups and three Supercups but he feels he will have a better chance of realising his ambitions with Bayern.

"I felt good in Ukraine, but in relation to my sporting goals and prospects compared with Bayern, I have to say, I have more in five months at Bayern than five years in Donetsk," the 25-year-old said.

"I never really had the dream of becoming a professional footballer. I only started playing at nine years of age. It was actually a great passion of my father who wasn't a professional. But this inspired and pushed me on.
